BACKYARD KIDDOS

Friday was a backyard wonderland for 5 little munchkins. Emily Henderson and her trusty right hand Brian created what we all dream of at 6 years old. The parents gone, and all the colorful fabric and trinkets imaginable at your disposal. Fun, mismatched clothes, put together by the wonderful Gina Aglietti. Bright nail polish, and hair do's you dream of doing yourself, thanks to Jen Fiamenco. And a trusty friend named Myles who will jump up and down making ridiculous noises just to make you laugh. Thanks to all the moms and their munchkins for making the trek, and to Lindsay at Zuri for putting together a wonderful crew. The day was a dream. I learned a new technique and a found a different point of view, shooting with 2 kids hanging from my back... Such a blast.

WOMENS HEALTH

I forget to check sometimes for my editorial work. As much as I try to stay on top of collecting tears, sometimes things fall through the cracks. Yesterday, while sitting in the waiting room and thumbing through Women's Health, I saw my portrait of Gretchen Bleiler. Gretchen is one of our Olympic Hopefuls for the womens snowboard team, and a down to earth, wonderful girl. The article shares her fitness, beauty, and motivational tips.

LIVESTRONG

Also out this month is the premiere issue of LIVESTRONG Quarterly, featuring my portraits of Robin William. The article addresses his recent open heart surgery, surviving, and his dear friendship with Lance Armstrong. Its a great read, and Robin was beyond a pleasure to work with.

FOAM MAGAZINE

FOAM Magazines March 2010 issue just hit the stands. It includes a story I photographed on model Kara Thoms and her boyfriend Matt Montee and their Topanga home.

MY LITTLE NEPHEW

From day 1 to 7 weeks old, my little nephew is quite the growing man. I'm so excited to have a new little face to follow around with my camera. I have a feeling my commercial work is going to take the route of Kid Photography very soon.

BIG SUR BATH

This moment led to a series of images I took in an outdoor bath in Big Sur. I'm working on the film now, but loved the smile that came as she emerged from the water. Thank you Narelle.

KARA THOMS

Rummaging through old film and files, working on the website, and came across this photo of Kara Thoms. She's a dear friend, and great model, gracing the cover of Fitness this month. I never did anything with this image, and just found it gently beautiful. I guess that's what blogs are for.. a place to put things.. that you're not sure what do with.

VOLCOM SNOWBOARD TEAM

Back in November the snowboard community gathered in Mammoth Lakes, Ca. for the collaborative art show put together in memory of our good friend Jeff Anderson. This brought together family, friends, and the majority of Volcom's snowboard team. We spent a morning by the lakes taking some new portraits and team shots of some of the greatest snowboarders to ever grace the snow. www.volcom.com This weekend, the show moves to Portland, Oregon and is being hosted by Nemo Design and contributing artist Trevor Graves. If you're in the area, take a look at one of the greatest group shows I could ever be a part of. www.iamjla.org

BIG BEAR

Two hours outside of Los Angeles today and we were in a winter wonderland. After only an hour of shooting, my digital camera decided to fail me. I was happy to swap out for my trusty Hasselblad, but finding myself over anxious to see the film. In the meantime, here's a taste of what we began to work with. Thank you to everyone that made the journey, dogs included. So nice to spend the day in fresh cool mountain air.

Goddess Party

I fell upon some old film the other night and decided to start scanning away...
This day was spent at a cabin in Malibu with dear friends, good food, flower head dress crafting, and good old fashion tye dye making. We named it the Goddess Party and hope to have many more to come.
